My Hair Cuttery Look

in Beauty, Style  •  December 15, 2014

Tis the season for holidays parties, and of course I am overdue for a new haircut. Do you want to know a huge secret? My long, silky Asian hair is my pride and joy but lately, it has been a huge dry, static mess due to the cold Chicago weather. So when Hair Cuttery reached out to me about trying out their services, I happily obliged and squealed with happiness when I found out there was a location 5 minutes away from my house.

I was lucky enough to do a walk-in yesterday as I was in the area getting some late Christmas shopping done. As soon as I walked in, I met Selena, aka my miracle worker. Let me tell you, this woman knows her hair. She gave me a little trim and even gave me some tips and tricks to get soft waves with a blow-dryer, aka Ribbon Hair technique.

AFTER (loved how gorgeous it turned out)
This technique creates a more relaxed curl and perfect with girls with long hair. All you need is a 1 inch round metal brush then take a medium size section 1” in length and ½” in width. Next, slowly slide the blow-dryer down to the end of the hair shaft (almost as if you are twirling your hair) then release the hair – once the hair is removed, it bounces back and is curled.

Hot Tip: Depending on the types of curls that you are trying to achieve  – if you want more softer curls, take larger sections but if you want more tighter curls, start with smaller sections.

Overall, I thought $34 for a shampoo, blow-dry, curls was very reasonable and I cannot wait to go back! To find the location nearest you, check out their website.

Thank you to Hair Cuttery for my new fabulous do! If you are a Hair Cuttery customer, be sure to share your “after” photos using hashtag #MyHCLook!
