Purse: Saint Laurent Monogram Bag

Happy 2016, friends!

I can’t hold it in any longer. Per many requests, I’m excited to announce I will incorporate more fashion, beauty and lifestyle posts this year. As much as I love writing about food, it’s only human nature to want to experiment and grow. My life motto is you should never hold yourself back.

Yes, I know it makes more sense to only stick to a few topics on your blog. Chaos doesn’t exactly attract or keep readers, but your blog should be a reflection of you.

Speaking of it being a reflection of you, we all know shopping is my cardio.

Which brings me to my next point. I have a new favorite bag that has quickly stolen my heart – and is fulfilling a few of my intentions (to purchase high quality items when possible).

I first came across Saint Laurent when I studied abroad in Paris in high school. I quickly became enamored not only with the Monogram Matelasse design, but also with the history of the company. Founded in 1961, Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury pret-a-porter in a 1966 collection called “Rive Gauche,” synonymous with youth and freedom.

I waited over ten years to finally purchase the bag, and boy was it worth the wait.

Being a designer bag fan my entire life, I have high expectations for quality and leather. And this Saint Laurent tote is no joke. It’s reasonably priced – especially compared to other leather totes from high end designers – and has great interior pockets for all my items, including multiple card slots. And the best part? It happens to have interchangeable details. So when I tire of my gold chain shoulder strap, I can swap it out.

What is your favorite bag?

*No compensation here. This is my own personal review because I love this bag so much.
