I recently was asked by Top-Top, a new reservation booking service to serve as a brand ambassador. Top-Top lets users book reservations at top Chicago restaurants, $2.50 fee per person, for diners to be treated to ‘week-of’ availability and the capability to select the table of their choice. Why do I love it so much? The first reason I love Top-Top is that they asked me to dine at Autre Monde. This is a place I have never had dinner before – isn’t that part of the fun? Since it isn’t in a hotspot like downtown Chicago and instead in the heart of residential downtown Berwyn, it gets lost in the shuffle. That’s a shame because it has won many accolades such as the 2014 Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant award, 2014 Jean Banchet Chef of the Year nominee and many more.

Autre Monde Cafe is a neighborhood restaurant celebrating all things Mediterranean with a fresh, seasonal menu, old world focused wine list showcasing the best organic & artisan producers as well as cocktail program inspired by small batch spirits, fresh juices and old school techniques. A hidden oasis for dining and provide a constant source of fresh herbs and veggies for the restaurant serving dinner 6 nights a week and brunch on Sundays as well as offering a number of classes & special dinners, they aim to keep things fresh in all aspects of the restaurant.

The clean lines of the dining room are highlighted by beautiful tables, hand crafted by Mennonites out of fallen ash trees from Cakeridge Farms mixed with vibrant vintage French subway posters and the warm glow of repurposed blown glass lights, all designed to transport the diner heart & soul to another world.

As soon as I sat down for dinner, Chefs Beth Partridge & Dan Pancake visited our table and explained I would get their tasting menu to get the full experience of Autre Monde.

My three reasons to go as soon as possible? I highly recommend you make the drive to Autre Monde because it will be a dining adventure. Please go since this is a restaurant who dares to be different. Lastly, go here because you love memorable food and taste experiences and the benefit of using Top-Top is that you can secure week of reservations at restaurants that are difficult to get into otherwise.
