Humana Healthier Choices & Taste of Chicago GIVEAWAY

in Eating Out, Eats & Drinks, Events, Festivals  •  July 8, 2014

Are you visiting the Taste of Chicago this year? Check out Humana Healthier Choices! One of my favorite Chicago festivals is attending the Taste! Now that summer is here to stay in the windy city, I have to be careful and watch my calories. I was happy to find out that Humana had a Healthier choice option program this year at the 2014 Taste of Chicago. Now that I know there are healthier choices at the Taste, this will keep me on the road of healthy eating. For the seventh consecutive year, Humana Healthier Choices... Martín Códax Private Wine Pairing Dinner Event at 2-Star Michelin’s L2O in Lincoln Park

in Eating Out, Eats & Drinks  •  July 7, 2014

I recently had one of my best dining experiences at L2O (an acronym for Lake 2 Ocean), when I was invited to attend a wine pairing dinner a couple weeks ago.  This seafood restaurant by former Chef Laurent Gras has received multiple accolades, including a recent nomination for the James Beard Award and a 2 star rating from the Michelin Guide in 2012 and a 3 star rating in 2010. I’ve always enjoyed wine pairing dinners, but L2O took the experience to a whole new level! The evening started with the leading white wine of Spain, Martin Codax Albarino... The Perfect Summer Salad = Brussel Sprouts Salad topped with Papaya, Parmesan Cheese and Avocado

in Eating In, Eats & Drinks  •  June 30, 2014

My apologies for the lack of posts these last few weeks, I have been preoccupied with moving and everyone knows how stressful that can be. I cannot wait to show everyone the before and after pics of the new place. Okay, enough about moving, let’s talk food! Summer has officially arrived in Chicago and I can’t think of anything easier to make than a fresh bowl of salad. The following recipe was inspired by the lack of food in my fridge after completing the aforementioned move. I kid you not, the only groceries I had were a papaya, parmesan cheese,... Plain and simple, I love Mott Street in Wicker Park

in Eating Out, Eats & Drinks  •  June 4, 2014

Chef Edward Kim, Jenny Kim, and Vicki Kim of Ruxbin Restaurant have done it again. Their latest creation, Mott Street, along with Nate Chung, delivers with remarkable food, and an unparalleled customer service experience. While Ruxbin primarily focuses on French and American dishes with bits and pieces of Asian ingredients; this hip new eatery serves-up Asian street cuisine on casual small plates for the Western palate. On Saturday, my friend and I started with the shrimp and kohlrabi salad. The shrimp was deep fried; while the kohlrabi was julienned, giving it... Nothing but amazing at Nothing Bundt Cakes

in Eating Out, Eats & Drinks  •  May 16, 2014

These cakes are so LIGHT and AIRY! Perfectly bundt! Moist moist moist! I was in the area since my car dealership is right next to this adorable bakery and knowing that my oil change would take an hour, I decided to walk over and get myself one of these amazing mini cakes I kept hearing of. The store is well decorated and the menus are placed where it... Cho Sun Ok Korean BBQ in Chicago

in Eating Out, Eats & Drinks  •  May 1, 2014

I only find it fitting to do a review on my favorite Korean restaurant in Chicago as my first blog post since everyone loves Korean BBQ! If you have not set foot in Cho Sun Ok Korean Restaurant, you have been missing out big, and I mean BIG. For a Friday night, this place was quite busy but we got a table right away and our waiter came by with our drinks as soon as we sat down. I loved that since in the Korean culture,...
