in Eating In, Eats & Drinks, Recipe  •  November 30, 2016

As of late, to cut down on eating out during the week, this Soon Du Bu Kimchi Jigae aka Korean Soft Tofu with Kimchi Stew have been in constant rotation at our house. I grew up eating this soup and it’s a staple in any Korean kitchen. It’s an all-in-one meal with a... Haemul Pajeon: Savory Seafood Korean-style pancakes

in Eating In, Eats & Drinks  •  April 12, 2015

Photo: My dad’s perfect kalbi It’s almost BBQ season! No Korean BBQ dishes is complete without Kalbi Gui, grilled marinated beef short ribs. By definition, kalbi means “ribs,”and gui means “grilled.” You will often find these short ribs in two different cuts – the first is a flank cut, when the ribs are thinly cut (about 1/4 inch thick) across the bones and the English cut, when the ribs are separated... My Grandmother’s Korean Bulgogi Recipe aka Korean BBQ

in Eating In, Eats & Drinks  •  February 2, 2015

I have been hesitant to share my Grandmother’s Korean Bulgogi recipe because it has been passed down from generation to generation, with each person perfecting it along the way. This dish was a staple growing up in our house and I’ve been eating it all my life. She taught me how to make it, along with her famous rice cakes, when I was in middle school. Whenever I make this, I feel like I’m back in her kitchen in South Korea cooking with her. Here’s my Grandma and I in...
